quayside construct series 2023 - 2025

The Quayside Construct Series of prints and drawings have been evolving from a combination of still life drawings (based upon flotsam and jetsam) and observations made during walks and visits to harbours. Initally, the compositions for some of these prints derived from the flotsam and jetsam and the general paraphenalia associated with fishing boats found at the harbour in Aberystwyth. Further inspiration has come from visits to harbours Ballintoy, Annalong and Kilkeel in Northern Ireland.

The Quayside Construct series has so far inspired prints made as lithographs, linocuts, screenprints and as drypoints. The current series seen below have all been printed in editions of 16 (4 each on Rives Tan, Cream, Grey and Somerset Satin White), printed from stone, aluminium plates, photplates with exposed textures - using paper stencils.
