aber ebb and flow 2021 - 2022

Drawings and prints that collectively became part of a series called 'aber ebb and flow' completed during the Covid-19 lockdowns, were loosely based upon the series of South Beach Still Lives drawings made in 2021. Still Life materials collected during walks along the beach opposite, allowed for compositions to be set up in the studio, which brought together objets trouvees (drift wood, plastic, rusting metal, organic material), calligraphic elements together with references to jetties and boats. The resulting prints include The Aber Savage Selection and The Storm Strewn Selection (seen below) and a number of monotypes that  were composed from part printed plates and printed chine colle.
